My Christmas Sew In Pics

My hair took around 6 hours to complete . I think this is the 1st one I've did that I can really feel the pain, haha. I used my batik Euro j-body wvg. It has Thin wefts so it really easing to fold while sewing and the curls are soo bouncy =) So, without further adieu:

This is the hair that was combed out from my previous sew in. Yeah, it's alot.

furball!

These are products/treatments I use before hiding my hair. Very simple regimen.

Almond Milk.

milk!

I have a regular hair client that introduced me to this. She is a hardcore vegan & has inspired me to take a more healthy route in my eating habits. I've been drinking Almond milk by Blue Diamond for a month now & I love it. It's now my substitute for regular milk. It's, of course, a vegan drink that's a non-dairy, Gluten, Cholesterol & Lactose free. Also has a great source of vitamins. I've been eating it with my Special K Chocolately Delight & Cinnamon Pecan cereal. Recently I tried 1% milk with my cereal & it tasted unusual. So I'm sticking with it, lol. I wanna try and make it from scratch one day if I'm brave enough =)

My personal favorite is the vanilla flavor. It's sweet & goes great with cereal. I just wanted to give my opinion on this. Don't be scared. Try it at least one. It sells for 4.00 in stores. Try it!

Doing it up for Christmas & A Small Goal...

So the big day is next Friday and I really wanna get pretty for Christmas. It's funny cause I could care less if I get anything this year, I just want food in my tummy, hair on my head and God by my side, lol. Tomorrow I will be taking this old sew in out and rejuvenate my hair, then Saturday I'm going to weave it up. I can't wait to see the finished look. I dont wanna look too done up either. You know that feeling, like your over dressed? ugh. Whoo! I'm excited.

I will also be stocking back up on my health foods again. More fruits, vegetables, bottled water, salad & non sugary cereal. Yum! I'm not giving myself a date or limit, but I would like to loose 30lbs before my 22nd b-day. I'm serious about it this time. I feel like I have the support & finances to really make a difference. Now to find a place to work out...

So, that's about it for tonight. Oh! and I'm getting pretty fed up with all this Tiger Wood coverage. Everytime I turn on the TV another mistress has came out of hiding! Man. I just had to vent a bit. Carry on...

My Weave Regimen & How I Maintain My Hair Underneath

As you all should know I am a routine weave wearer. They are my staple protective style. As soon as I take one down, I have another up like clock work because I get tempted to apply heat & wear it down constantly. Not good. I choose to wear weaves because I really hate having to sit for 8 or more hrs & at this point in my life a weave is a little more convenient for me.

My "prepping for a weave" Routine:

Step One: Clarify
Step Two: Moisturizing Shampoo
Step Three: Condish to dentangle
Step Four: Apply Protein for 10 min
Step Five: DC for around 2 hours

The next steps are me braiding and then sewing in the weave. I either take two full days to do my hair or one depending if I have other plans within the next few days. I usually leave my weave in for a month- a month in a half tops. To be honest I rarley apply any moisturizing products in my hair while I'm weaved up. It depends on whether I'm rocking straight or curly hair, but either way I'll use oil inside a bottle with a nozle top so I can get to my salp. Below is my regular routine without weave:

-Clarify 1x a month
-Wash/DC 1x a week
-Protein every 2 weeks
-Co-Wash as needed
-Moisturize & seal as needed
-Trim ends every 3 months

Now, I hope this helps some of ya'll that are looking for some advice when caring for your hair while in a ps. Enjoy!

Euro J-body Wvg by Batik

Euro J-body wvg
I went on a little spree today @ the bss in search of a new holiday doo. For temporary styles I always use Batik synthetic hair and I was gonna go back to my usual Loose Wave curl, but I came across a new style. It's a layered bumped under look that comes in various colors. The only length it comes in is 7, 8, 9 inches. It looks beautiful and everytime I think about what it's going to look like, I start to drool, lol. I can't resist a heavy, sexy bang in my face, Love it! at 1st I was hesitant about having hair this short, but I did a length check & I comfortable with it.

I plan on installing it before the weekend begins. I may wanna get dressed up & go out. I will of course take pics with my cousins camera once the style is complete. Oh, I also bought some more aphogee 2 min reconstructer and I can't wait to play in my hair =)

Making it to APL...

The next step in my hair journey is to get to my goal of APL. I joined a challenge on BHM (BlackHairMedia) to make it in 2010, but it seems as though I'm not going to make it by then. I'm currently CBL at the moment. I plan on keeping my hair weaved up and I'm not doing anymore leave outs in 2010 cause this flat ironing ain't the business. Tomorrow I'm product shopping & getting my hair ready for christmas =) My hair is really in need of some protein and a DC. I would like to make APL around Halloween of 2010. I'm giving myself a spacious time span so I can actually make it, lol. I'm still debating on texlaxing or bonelaxing cause I hate how the shedding looks. Maybe 2012 I will, If taking care of my hair gets harder.

I rarley see any naturals going relaxed anymore & I really want some inspiration! Do u know of any? Please let me know.

A different view on life.

I just finished my Medical Assistant program on Friday & I feel as though a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. Ah! Free at last =) and at this very moment it is my mission to find a decent paying job. I feel as though since I've moved from my mom's house, finished the 1st step in my schooling and started living with my cousin, I'm more independent & I can accomplish anything. It's funny because I've been planning my life in my head for so long and now you guys are the 1st ones I share my thoughts with. Lucky you =). I really plan to make some drastic (well, I guess this statement really depends on ur level of drastic) changes in my life and of course they are for the better.

I don't wanna make this a new years resolution, challenge or give this a time limit because I hate limiting myself. I decided that I'm going to take as much time as I need to make sure that I do this right this time. So. I'm going to be moving back to my hometown for a little over a year, which is, Blythe, CA. Ever heard of it? Sure u haven't, lol. It's very small, but I'm going back there, completing another step in my medical education (LVN), getting braces, YES, braces! and working on my body image. I'm mainly working on my body because I was diagnosed with hypertension which is High blood pressure and It's not that great for someone who is as young as me, so I'm being really cautious about what I eat. I've stopped eating fast food, limited my beef & salt intake, drinking milk and eating food as is, no seasoning. I'm trying ladies!

I'm so determined to do this ya'll. I'm ready for this and I wanna be happy with my future. I can't settle for less now. I won't. I'm going to posting all day cause I have a lot to get off my chest. Enjoy!

Kisses!
